You need to help track inventory in the field
Here is a thing: I really don't see much pain in tracking office assets because... well, there aren't so many of them. Having employees check in and out assets seems a little over the board in my mind. But I do think it will be a fantastic tool to help track assets in the field. Meaning, help track assets in possession of employees who are not in the office. Such assets get lost much more often and it takes considerable time to locate them. In the office setting, making an audit of assets is pretty easy - just have all employees record what they have and you are done. Even better - can you have small trackers attached to such assets which will be linked to the website wireless (i.e., map). This way any manager can see where a particular asset is at a point in time.

Our mobile apps allow for tracking geo locations of assets. Use the asset scan report to view asset location on an interactive map.

Thanks for the feedback. Particularly like your suggestion of the map feature.
The service industry is one of our target markets ie where assets are deployed in the field and are of significant value.
I did want to mention the headache and problems of tracking office assets in mid size businesses (~100 and plus employees) is more pronounced then what should be considered acceptable. Thats been the motivation for building such a tool after being at the receiving end of two incidents related to office assets lost/misplacement in two different companies.
PS: I assume you have beta access to the app, if not let me know and I'll email it you.
