Because we are unable to see when something is due back, or to change/extend their checkout period.

    I agree. A calendar view of the asset where you can see checkouts and future reservations. Also, as part of the dashboard, something where a user can see checkouts/reservations for groups of assets, all assets, etc. Currently, I have a google calendar set up for my heaviest used assets and users just mark off the dates in the calendar that they plan to use the asset.

    yeah this feature should be, one way to check due back items is to view "Overdue Check in Assets " report
