Membership QR codes
Each member should have a QR code that is assigned to them. That way, you could scan a Member's QR code and have it correspond to their checkout history, as well as bulk checkin any assets they are returning.
This could be taken further into a Signature implementation that would legally bind them to any assets they borrow.

Update: While checking out assets from mobile, you can scan a barcode on employee ID card. This barcode should be the ‘Identification Number’ on the member detail page. You can edit a member to update this ID.
You can generate a barcode online using free services.

Being able to scan an employee's existing barcode (such as on his or her ID card) would be great, too.
