Custom attributes to be unique

Is it possible for certain “custom attributes” to be unique. So if possible, when you add/edit an attribute, please have option where you can check “Do not allow duplicates” or something of the sort.

    Yes, please do this feature. In particular I have a custom field for 'SKU' that I would like to set to not allow duplicates. Especially on bulk import.
