Alert or Automated Location Update When Scanned
When an asset is scanned and is in a different location than the last scan the user is alerted right away to update to the new location. OR it is automatically updated.

We’ve added an option for users to scan items and then update location. (Scan a bunch of items → Choose Edit from actions → Choose Location)
Let’s say you’re auditing items at 201 East Manhattan. You can walk into this store and start scanning labels. Then say Actions → Update → Location and choose 201 East Manhattan
As admin, you are able to run Asset Scans report and see which items were scanned where.

The locations and the scanned location information is separate at the moment. You can have locations under Items without any physical address. On the other hand when you scan a label, we always get the location from the phone’s GPS. So linking the 2 together is a tad complicated.
Here is what can be done:
- You scan a bunch of items at a location
- When you hit ‘complete’ on scanning screen, these items are pulled up
- You can browse through them (using Next & Previous button) to verify that they’re at correct locationLet us know what you think.

Have a look at Report -> Asset Scans
How about we show the Asset Location and scanned location side by side in columns.
You can glance through and see if any of these are off.
Or if the data set is really large, export this sheet (one click procedure) and match columns using an excel formula -

That is not a bad idea for low volume scans. When you have a "scanned location" it is not user friendly information we can quickly look at and say "oh ya it's where it is supposed to be" Maybe it could show the location nearest in the "scanned location" so it is easier to read.
When we scan our assets we will be scanning 100's at a time and want to be efficient with little manual updating as needed. So having to manually update the location for each asset is time consuming.
